The spiritual and emotional relationship that is able to be cultivated between a husband and his wife or a wife and her husband, should be a direct reflection on understanding how God relates to us and how we are supposed to relate to God, in everyday life. The principles on this DVD will offer a little bit more clarity on the roles of men and women in biblical teaching and law. These teachings will cross all cultural barriers and define in the clearest terms possible, the conflict that exists between manmade religion and authority, on the one hand, and divine faith and authority of the Spirit, which is expressed through the biblical texts of what is called in the Bible, “ISRAEL.”

In this DVD lecture, Avi and Dina ben Mordechai will address the spiritual principle of what it means to “walk in or by the Spirit,” as taught in the Tanakh and in the Brit haChadasha (“New Testament”). This “ramps up” the concept that Sha'ul (Paul) addresses in Galatians when he speaks about the structure of Jewish Law and Rabbinic authority, expressing the matter with the phrase, “the works of the law.” If we are not supposed to submit to Rabbinic authority or to the control of any one religious human leader or institutional authority, then what? The answer, remarkably, is simple in theory, but difficult in practice. In this DVD, we will compare EXODUS 20:18-19 (in Hebrew – the people said to Moses, "you go get the Law for us and teach it to us; we can't hear it directly from God, lest we die") with that of Jeremiah 31:31-34. This is the New Covenant: to walk in and by the leadership and direction of the Ruach haKodesh (the Spirit belonging to the Holy One), which we know from Hebrew grammar and content is feminine. The essence of the New Covenant is in learning how the letter of the Law and the Spirit of the Law work together in perfect unity. These two aspects of Torah are inseparably intertwined as it is reflected in the structure of DNA and its double helix construction. Avi ben Mordechai believes that this is no metaphor! It is something that is very, very real, but unseen to the human eye. The DNA double helix also is a snapshot of what marriage is all about, where it says in Hebrew that “the two shall become one” (Genesis 2). This is the Song of Heaven and it is truly a message for today’s relationships between men and women, women and men, God and man, man and God.
